After years of heroin addiction, John Alarid had a life transforming encounter with Jesus in a solitary confinement cell at the state penitentiary in Santa Fe, NM. It was then that he was given a mandate to preach the gospel to the lost, the last, and the least.
John has planted churches and recovery homes in the United States and the Philippines. In 2015 he and his wife, Hannah, planted a church on the north side of Springfield, Missouri with the mission to reach the one far from God. This church is now known as Freedom City Church.
Hannah was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, and graduated from Teen Challenge program in Long Island, NY. She serves as the Creative Arts & Worship Pastor and is currently finishing up her degree in Music from Evangel University.
John holds a BA in Theology & Church Leadership from Central Bible College, a MA in Intercultural Studies from Evangel University, and is currently in the Doctoral program at the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. In 2017 he published his autobiography, My Prison Became a Palace. John and Hannah reside in Springfield, MO with their daughter, Brooklyn Adelina.
